Jamie Osborne, star of Arlesey’s rising Under 14s, hammered home his twentieth hat-trick of the season at the weekend.
It’s been quite an incredible year of achievement for Jamie. He has not only trialled with LutonTown, he was also on target for the Royston Crow Representative Side in their Cup Final victory a few weeks ago. His goal tally for Arlesey Under 14s is a sensational 77! Well done Jamie!

This year’s Presentation Day on Saturday 14 May 2005 is going to be a bit different from previous years.
As ATYFC have so many teams this season, we have had to split Presentation Night into two sittings, as follows: 1.30pm to 5pm:
U9s – Karl Lawrence; U11s – Damian Gentle; U12 Sky – Kevin Phillips; U14 – Trevor Flint. 6pm to 9.30pm: U8 – Gino Salvaggio; U10 – Dave Wright; U12 Blues – Terry Smith; U13 Russell Fye As
previous years, we would appreciate if each parent could bring one plate of food for the half-time interval, list of food will be given to each manager nearer the time. Thankyou for your understanding. Trevor Flint

Chairman Flint hails the all-conquering heroes of ATYFC’s U13s and their leader, Russell Fye!
It’s almost official! Russell ‘Mourinho’ Fye, his colleagues and all the lads from Arlesey’s outstanding Under 13s squad will have plenty to celebrate at this year’s ATYFC Annual Presentation Night!
In a recent statement to the side’s dedicated Jose follower, fashionable Fye earned the praises of fellow Chelsea fan and arch-ATYFC architect El Flino. ‘Let me be the first to
congratulate you, Duncan, Mickle and the boys,’ wrote Chairman Trev. ’On my calculations you were promoted today. I‘m sure I speak for everyone in the club in saying this as been a well deserved
promotion’.

An outstanding £1,430 was raised by all teams in the first-ever ATYFC Christmas Raffle. Well done to everyone, an
excellent effort by all concerned! The New Year’s Eve Disco was a huge success and made a profit of £244.42 on the night, largely due to the fact that the raffle prizes for the evening were donated by
parents, predominantly U12 Sky’s! Congratulations and thank you! A big ‘thank you’ to all those people who helped in one way or another. Those who turned out to help set up the hall
for the evening (blowing up 200 balloons is no mean task), those who manned the main door during the evening and those who turned out on New Years Day to help clear up the hall, without all your help we could not
hope to run this event. Debbie Flint will be in touch soon with all those who have offered to serve on the Social Committee. Hopefully a meeting can be arranged soon. All teams have been invited to
nominate a representative to sit on the Social Committee. They are: Lesley Horwood (U16s); Jane Howard and Sally Ibbotson (U14s); Tracy Fye (U13s); Natalie Kirkham (U12B); Christine Winwood (U12S); Debbie Flint
(U11s); Paul Ison (10s); Sue Clark (U9s); Julianna Sullivan (U8s); Steve (U7s)

A BIG thank you to everybody who entered our ‘New Year’s Eve Quiz 2004’! Yes, we got the
numbering system on the form wrong. So sorry folks, although we said there were 39 questions there were, in fact, only 36 questions! The winners were, again, Mick Smith and family, last year’s
winners, this time with 31 points! Well done to everyone who took part. The winners were in first place with 31 points: Mick Smith and family. In second place with 30 pts was Jack ‘Keano’ Chapman and in
joint third place with 29 pts were The Buck’s and Gary Brown.

Blue Volts Rock Potton Colts Arlesey’s greased lightning is the deciding factor in Cup clash! Potton Colts U14s 1
ArleseyTown U14s 3 Arlesey Town Youth U14s were valiant winners in Friday night’s league Cup clash against higher division opposition. Potton Colts, Division One Champion
contenders, had agreed to switch this ‘home’ tie to ArleseyTown’s Hitchin Road stadium. Nevertheless, they were looking to extend their great run and obtain safe passage into the next round of the Cup.
But this floodlit fixture turned into a real tug-of-war as both sides gave their opponents little slack. A close, competitive and exciting first half saw both sides create few chances.
With battle restricted to the midfield area, Potton passed the ball around with ease albeit they lost out on the final touch as Arlesey’s midfielders snapped into action to intercept or win the tackle.
Both keepers were relatively undisturbed in the early stages of the game which was played in a very open fashion with great spirit by all 22 players. Gradually, both sets of forwards came into play as
fire from the midfield reigned in over the top. Arlesey snatched a goal thanks to one of the best team goals the team has ever scored. Picking up the ball just outside the Potton 18-yard box,
tireless Ricketts took on three Potton defenders and laid off the perfect ball to the edge of the six-yard box where Osborne was waiting to tap the ball into the net. The second half continued in
the much the same vein. Fisher, List and Atkins combined in the Arlesey midfield to frustrate Potton’s attacking game. Flint and Howard were solid down the left flank. On the odd occasion that Potton
broke through, Arlesey’s back two of Baker and Dobson more than ably dealt with any incursions, knocking the ball into touch or repelling all borders with some firm and formidable tackling.
Osborne added two more goals with Potton winning a consolation goal, albeit their many attempts on goal in the second half were saved by the impressive Dhesi, in the Arlesey goals. In the
presentation afterwards, both managers praised all players for an outstanding display. Selecting the Potton ‘man of the match’, Arlesey Manager Trevor Flint selected full-back supremo, Griffiths. Howard King
singled out the Arlesey Captain, Dommett. His was certainly the performance of the night. His judgement was impeccable. He won virtually every ball that came his way, barely lost a challenge and was integral to
Arlesey’s play in both 18-yard boxes. Well done too to Trevor and colleagues, Nick and Adam Winwood. All the hard work and effort made in recent months on the training pitch is now plain for all to see.

Lifesaver Harding hangs up his gloves As Blues Manager announces departure of valiant keeper. It is
with some sadness that atyfc.net reports the departure of Andrew Harding from Arlesey’s U12 Blues team in order to concentrate on his rugby. “Andy was a top goalkeeper and a well-liked member of
the team,” says Blues’ Manager, Terry Smith. “Trevor, Matt and I and everyone who helps the Blues would like to wish Andy and his family all the best in the future.” “We really
appreciate all the effort he and his family have put in over the past year or so. He will be remembered for a number of outstanding performances in some pretty memorable games. Not least, his one-handed save
last year against Shefford Saints to earn the Blues a very valuable point. Well done, thank you and good luck, Andy Harding!”

Six weeks into the season and Arlesey’s Under 10s B team remain the only side in the entire Club with an unbeaten record.
Indeed in their opening five games, the boys amassed a tally of 13 goals having conceded only one goal making them the best defence in the Club. Well done Dave, Rob and all the lads! The side’s
talented striker Rowe has maintained his place as joint second highest goal scorer across all of Arlesey 12 youth teams, with eight goals in just five games. That’s one goal more than Thierry Henry has scored for
the Premiership leaders, Arsenal (and two more than Jose Antonio Reyes) and that’s after 11 appearances! 11 Oct 2004

Atyfc.net man signs former Man Utd and Scotland hero at Kenilworth Road. Alan Howard got more than he bargained for
at LutonTown’s League One clash against Hartlepool on Friday night. He was there to present the Travel Extras ‘Player of the Month’ award after winning a competition. At half time, Alan, a
keen Scotland and Luton Town supporter, spotted Gordon Strachan and requested an autograph. Gordon and his son, Gavin, a Hartlepool midfielder drove home without the three points. Meanwhile, Alan returned
with his bright orange tie suitably inscribed. [11 Oct 2004]

Jacko we salute you! Blues bid fond farewell to ‘Cristiano’ Legate.
U12 Blues Manager, Terry Smith has announced that after just one game into the new season the Blues have lost a key player. “Jack Legate has decided to leave and move to neighbours Stotfold”
said Terry. “The Blues will miss Jack and would like to thank him for his hard work and dedication to the Blues over the last few years! Indeed, Jack was one of the founder players of Arlesey Town Youth (aka ATFC
2000) in the late 1990s! Matt, Trev and I would like to wish Jack good luck with his new team. Thanks Jack!” Atyfc.net joins Terry and all the lads from the Blues in wishing Jack all the very best
at his new Club. Jack’s Arlesey career will be remembered for many things not least him scoring one of the goals of the season last year – an absolute howler from 20 yards out! Good luck Jack, we salute you!

Up, up and away as Tuns sees Under 10s’ Season off to a fun-tastic start!
A big ‘thank you’ to everyone who came to support Arlesey’s Under 10s at the Fun Day organised at The Three Tuns on Saturday 28 August. It was a great afternoon for all those who turned
out. Over 100 helium balloons, kindly provided by Pizza Hut, were sent skyward to the sweet singing sounds of American crooner, Andy Williams. Keiron Lumgair picked up the top prize of a personal CD
player after his triumph in the ‘beat the goalie’ competition. Dave Wright won the ‘hit the bar’ competition, a ball game, after hitting a phenomenal five out of seven strikes.
While the experts from the Brown, Ison and Benham households were victorious in the music quiz. A bouncy castle and BBQ completed the line-up on what was a marvellous occasion hosted by the team’s
generous new sponsor. Our congratulations and thanks to Arlesey’s Three Tuns in the heart of the village.
